IDEs

About this task

The Veracode Visual Studio Extension is a package extension for users of Visual Studio 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Visual Studio Express does not support the use of package extensions. If you use Visual Studio 2012 or 2013, you must also install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017.

Procedure

To install the Visual Studio package extension:

  1. If the version of Visual Studio that you want to integrate with Veracode is running, close it.
  2. Go to https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=vs-publisher-1464889.VeracodeVisualStudioPackage.
  3. On the Veracode Visual Studio Extension screen, click Download.
  4. Once the download of Veracode.VisualStudio.Extension.vsix completes, double-click it to launch the VSIX installer.
  5. In the VSIX Installer window, confirm that the appropriate version of Visual Studio is selected and click Install.
  6. Optionally, if you want to view the installation log, click View Install Log when the installation completes.

  7. Click Close.
  8. To verify that the installation succeeded, start Visual Studio and locate the Veracode tab.
