Virtual Scan Appliance

This guide introduces the terms used with the Veracode Virtual Scan Appliance (VSA), and common questions asked about the service.


A service API that manages scheduling, execution, and reporting of DynamicDS scan results from a VSA.


The system that routes traffic securely between the VSA and the Veracode Platform. The midpoint also performs remote debugging and flaw verification by Veracode dynamic scan engineers. Each VSA has a dedicated midpoint to isolate activity and minimize the surface area of an attack by a malicious entity.

Virtual Scan Appliance (VSA)
The VSA is the Veracode on-premise virtual appliance (VMware image) that contains our dynamic scan engine to scan internal customer sites.
